Daniel’s Unfulfilled Prophecy: Introduction The book of Daniel together with the Revelation shows the dealings of God with nations. As we read history we see God’s hand in the affairs of men in the fulfilling of prophecy. Putting history and prophecy together gives us understanding in the fast fulfilling of God’s Word. We see that the nations of the world are even now steadily moving toward the last great conflict on this earth. How exciting it is to open our Bible and see that hundreds of years before these events took place God had foretold it all through His prophets. As we unlock some code words used in Daniel and Revelation, we will understand the meaning of the symbols and events revealed in the Bible. It is a thrilling journey and we invite you to come along as we see events shaping up as prophecy points the way. We are living in the very end of the history of this earth—what an exciting time to be alive! In his book entitled “His Holiness”, Carl Bernstein stated with back-up evidence, that the United States and the Vatican together put money and power behind the Solidarity movement in the Soviet Union causing its fall in 1989. In his book, “The Keys of This Blood”, Malachi Martin, a Jesuit Catholic Priest, spoke for the Vatican. He told of the aims of the Catholic Church for a One World Government by overthrowing Communism and the United States of America. Looking back into prophecy we see that the fall of Communism in the form of the Soviet Union was foretold in Daniel 11 in the Bible. We could have seen this ahead of time if we had have studied this chapter deeply. What else is there that we haven’t seen yet that is about to happen? Let’s look on tip-toe as we enter our most important prophetic study. We focus our study on the final verses in the eleventh chapter of Daniel because they present to us the last events of this world’s history that occur just before that time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation (Daniel 12:1). Daniel 11:40-45 speaks of a troublous time before THE time of trouble of Daniel 12:1. The time of this occurrence is after the “time of the end” begins (Daniel 11:40). This pinpoints the specific verses between these two texts showing the events yet to come before the great time of trouble. And so we see that as we dig deeply into Daniel’s unfulfilled prophecy we will understand deep spiritual meaning. It will teach us what is now happening among the nations and also what is just about to transpire. As we go, keep in mind that God has promised never to leave us nor forsake us (Matthew 28:20) and that at the end He will deliver His people (Daniel 12:1). So let’s get started. This study of Daniel 11:40-45 covers the symbolism and significance of the last six verses of Daniel 11. It also considers the relationship of those verses to the book of Revelation, especially Revelation 13 and 17. The evidence in the verses demonstrates that a National Sunday Law is immanent in the United States and that shortly thereafter, the entire world will submit to the authority of Rome. An important fact found within these verses is that they were designed by God to bring about the final revival of God’s people. This fulfils the promise that “when we as a people understand what this book means to us, there will be seen among us a great revival.” Testimonies to Ministers, 113. It is our prayer that you will be confronted with this revival in your own experience as you study this material. Lesson 1: Knowledge Increased, Part A

Introduction: This lesson teaches the great importance of God’s counsel to study Daniel together with Revelation in the light of the events of today. It shows that we need a revival desperately and that that revival will come about through understanding prophetic events at the end of time. 1) Why should we study Daniel 11: 40-45 more today than some other parts of Daniel? Answer: We should study them for these reasons. a) These verses were not solved until our time and they are fulfilling now. These verses pertain to Revelation 13-18 and are the “final movements’ (9T11). b) The final series of events have already begun with the collapse of the Soviet Union. c) God designed these verses to bring a revival to His people. d) These verses show the sequence of events, which will be rapid ones, (9T11). 2) How does the setting of Daniel 11 show us that the time period associated with the final movements of Daniel 11 has arrived? · The Spirit of God is gradually being __________________________ · The agencies of evil are ___________________________________ · Every species of evil ______________________________________ · Those who hold the reins of government are struggling to put business operations ______________________________________________ · The Spirit of Prophecy in (9T14) what does Ellen White tell us about Daniel 11? What has happened in
our day that shows that the Spirit of God is being withdrawn from the
earth and that judgments of God are in the land?
Consider natural and man-made disasters, the
religious world, and the movement for a one-world government.
Answer:
Earthquakes, floods, volcanoes, hurricanes,
wars, bombings, murders, famines, and diseases are increasing in
frequency and intensity.
Consolidations in the religious world are
occurring through the ecumenical movement.
Protestants no longer protest Rome.
The United Nations is emerging as a power
that is attempting to place the entire world under its control.
In all of this remember that we have the
comfort that God is in control.
4)
What are the two
different parts of the experience that is ahead for God’s people?
(9T16) Answer: Celestial glory will combine
with a repetition of the persecutions of the past in the people of God.
5)
Sister White
said, “The light that Daniel received from God was given especially for
these last days.
The visions he saw by the banks of the Ulai
and the Hiddekel, the great rivers of Shinar, are now in process of
fulfillment, and all the events foretold will soon come to pass.” TM112,
113.
A) The vision of the Ulai, Daniel 8:2 had what part
yet to be fulfilled?
B) The vision of the Hiddekel, Daniel 10:4,
had what part yet to be fulfilled?
Answer:
a)
The part of the
vision of the Ulai that was not yet fulfilled in Sister White’s day, and
still isn’t fulfilled is Daniel 8:14, the cleansing of the sanctuary,
which began in 1844.
b)
The part of the
vision of the Hiddekel that was not yet fulfilled in Sister White’s day,
and still isn’t fulfilled is Daniel 11: 40-45. 6) What is our greatest need today? Answer: We need to have a revival of true godliness. Our first work is to seek this. 7) In Testimonies to Ministers page 113 Sister White says that a great revival will be seen among us when what happens? Answer: When the people understand what the books of Daniel and Revelation means to us. 8) What does it mean to have a revival? Answer: It is a renewal of spiritual life. 9) When we study Daniel and Revelation and understand about the work of Christ in the Most Holy Place what will we see? Answer: The faith I live By, p. 345 says that we will see that the connection between God and His people is close and decided. 10) What does Sister White say in 2SM105 that will prepare people to stand in the latter days? An increase of knowledge will prepare people to stand in the latter days. 11) We are promised to have an increase of knowledge on what subject? 2SM106-107 says that there is to be an increase of knowledge on the subject of the Papacy making of no effect the Law of Jehovah, or the counterfeit sabbath. 12) How do we know that the last 6 verses of Daniel chapter 11 span the final scenes of earth’s history? Answer: Because the very next verse, Daniel 12:1 records the close of probation. 13) What must we know as we stand on the very threshold of the fulfillment of the end of Daniel 11? Answer: 4BC1174 says that if we will walk in the light, our knowledge of Christ and the prophecies relating to Him will be greatly increased. In this lesson we have seen that it is of utmost importance for us to study Daniel and Revelation together. We need to have a revival. Revival comes through studying prophecy and understanding events to transpire in our day. May God bless us as we continue to study these important verses.
